BDLord Technologies Ltd ("BDLord", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under applicable Bangladeshi data protection law.
1. Information We Collect
When you register on BDLord, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and the user type you select (buyer, seller, or agent). When you post a property listing, we collect property details, photographs, and your location information. We also collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and usage patterns through cookies and server logs.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and improve our real estate marketplace services, to verify your identity and prevent fraud, to send you notifications about your listings and enquiries, and to communicate service updates. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Aggregated, anonymised data may be used for market research and platform analytics.
3. Data Sharing
Your name and contact details are shared with other users only when you explicitly initiate contact (e.g., an enquiry on a listing). We share data with payment processors (Stripe) solely to complete transactions. We may disclose information if required by Bangladeshi law or a valid court order.
4. Cookies
BDLord uses essential, server-managed session cookies for authentication and preference cookies for language and display settings. We use analytical cookies (anonymised) to understand platform usage. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect functionality.
5. Data Retention
Account data is retained for the duration of your account's existence plus 90 days after deletion. Property listings are retained for 2 years after expiry for legal compliance. Payment records are retained for 7 years in accordance with Bangladeshi financial regulations.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time via your account settings or by contacting us at [email protected]. You may request a data export in JSON format. Requests are processed within 30 days.
7. Security
We use industry-standard 256-bit TLS encryption for all data in transit. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Access to production databases is restricted to authorised personnel only and is logged. We conduct regular security audits.
8. Changes to This Policy
We will notify registered users via email of material changes to this policy at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of BDLord after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
